Relationship Banker, responsible for developing and growing profitable long-term relationships, driving team performance, managing the MNC business and coordinating cross-border activity within MENA and Turkey and across the Bank.
The role holder will also deputize on certain matters for the Country Head of Global Banking taking a lead role on client coverage.
Impact on the Business
Develop ‘Trusted Advisor’ relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned clients.
Co-ordinate origination and execution of in country and regional activities across the spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products / services.
Drive achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment.
Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment and management capabilities ensuring the required credit quality & requisite returns on risk
Identify event driven opportunities on an opportunistic basis, bringing in sector / country expertise as appropriate.
Build strong internal relationships with product providers to aggressively grow HSBC’s share of client wallet and to ensure that product capabilities are in line with client / sector requirements.
In conjunction with senior management, assist in the management, development and assessment of staff.
Undertake all required activities as directed by line manager or as agreed in annual objectives in support of furthering the Banking business.
To aggressively defend existing revenues and maximize new business opportunities from existing clients.
Co-ordinate and drive the efforts of all product areas to ensure revenues from portfolios are maximized.
Contribute to the preparation of accurate client plans and drive their execution.
Maintain a disciplined approach to credit, operational and reputational risk.

Develop strong relationships with key individuals in the client’s management team.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Proven ability to gain substantial business for the Bank across a full range of products.
Proven track record of building & developing long term relationships including at key decision maker level for all clients.
Proven Relationship Management, and business development skills, ideally matured in Financial Institutions Group / Multinationals sector. Exceptional applicants with experiences with backgrounds from other sectors may be considered.
Good level of product knowledge, particularly for those areas/product most likely to be of interest to the specific client base. Direct experience in originating flow and/or events business for Global Banking clients is preferable.
Proven record of proactively developing and originating client solutions.
Advanced understanding of risk management and risk mitigation.
