This is a significant role, responsible for providing comprehensive day to day legal advice to the company including specific, discrete legal matters raised by individual enquiries as well as advising on broader legal issues. The role will support the Head of Legal in policy and governance issues relating to the company as required, ensuring the business is protected with regard to all legal matters.
As Corporate Lawyer with Trust Re, you will assist the Company on a broad range of legal and regulatory issues. You will act as subject-matter expert on corporate matters across the organization, providing support on GCC and Global international corporate and commercial matters as required. The role will provide sound corporate and commercial legal advice on a range of matters, including; drafting, reviewing and negotiating corporate and commercial legal agreements, including sale and purchase agreements, ancillary documents, board minutes, corporate NDAs. You will coordinate and manage corporate and financial transactions, including the management of external counsel. Your role will be to effectively engage with internal stakeholders at senior management level and provide full support on legal matters as required. In addition you will be comfortable managing your workload and prioritising effectively. You will also set clear and achievable expectations with internal customers, proactively following up on actions and deliverables in a timely and efficient manner.
Desired Skills and Experience:
We are looking for a fully qualified Senior Legal professional with a minimum of 10 years' experience within an in-house corporate environment, preferably within the financial sector. You must have strong technical experience within the GCC and have dealt within a global capacity with a specialized knowledge of international and GCC legislation. With excellent communication skills, you will have the ability to advise on a broad range of legal matters across all areas of the business. You will have proven experience efficiently managing a high workload, setting correct expectations and ensuring timely delivery. You will be commercially minded, looking beyond pure legal issues, having regard to the overall success of the business. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence and ability to interact directly with senior management as well as at all other levels. You communicate clearly and confidently, gaining respect and confidence with your stakeholders. You are comfortable to adapt quickly to changing environment. This role will require fluency in English.
