Job Description
The Director of IT is responsible for managing all functions of the Information Technology department. This individual will be responsible for the planning and execution of Information Technology strategies and will provide general oversight of the IT infrastructure, operating systems, software and procedures that adhere to the company’s values and goals. The overall role and responsibility is to enable the employees, departments, customers and partners to work and communicate and collaborate effectively and efficiently. They will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Managerial Responsibilities

Oversee effective resource planning and utilization within the team through hiring, staffing, training and development of subordinates and other function personnel
Manage vendor relationships and external technology partners, consultants and contractor
Communicate regularly with Executive management on Information Technology
Work with Lindt International and Global shared service teams to ensure seamless communication throughout the organization
Strategy & Planning
Formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information processing and communication technologies
Manage IT department operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources
Technical Responsibilities 
Maintain organization’s effectiveness, efficiency and quality service by defining, delivering and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies and enforcing organization standard
Oversee the selection, acquisition, development, installation, maintenance and support of information technology 
Recommend information technology strategies, policies and procedures by analyzing existing operations, systems and infrastructure, identifying problems, evaluating trends and anticipating requirements
Focus on leveraging technology to streamline processes, accurately capture data and report of key metrics and performance indicators in an effective manner
Together with the Project Portfolio Manager, evaluate requests from the organization for technical, systems or process enhancements/modifications and propose priorities and requirements to the project steering group
Preserve assets by reviewing and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures
Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or equivalent experience
10 years’ experience in a similar leadership role, preferably in a mid-size organization
Detailed knowledge of ERP systems, EDI, Cognos BI, Micros and Microsoft Applications
Experience with POS (point-of-sales) data integration
Understanding of Consumer Packaged Goods Sales/Distribution Business model
Solid understanding of network security issues
A track record of integrating systems and building technologies to capture data and effectively report on key business metrics
Demonstrated ability to initiate, direct and coordinate project activities, ensuring customer satisfaction with support and project delivery
Experience of leading and developing a team of qualified and skilled individuals. Proven skills in building high performing mature technology teams
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives
A proven track record of developing service and support strategies and improving customer service
Ability to inspire and create positive action and drive for change within the teams, as well as with information technology suppliers and internal and external customers
Excellence verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, with ability to manage multiple demands while staying focused on results
