Director, Business Consulting role provides technical, business, industry and management support to the AspenTech Sales, Services and Business Consulting (BC) team in selling to and servicing our customers. It is primarily a customer facing role that requires both excellent industry business and technical knowledge allied to the communication skills needed to position Aspentech solutions and services with our customers.
The successful candidate must have strong business acumen and customer interaction skills. The role requires the ability to understand customer challenges and industry drivers, formulate potential solutions from Aspen's portfolio, build and justify the business case for client investment, and provide support to the direct sales force in the sales process.
Manage a team of Business Consultants to grow AspenTech business in APAC through working closely with Sales Account Team. The pre-sales functions include pipeline development, solution seminar, marketing campaign, proposal preparation, technical presentation and clarification, product demo etc.
Assign and coordinate individual Business Consultants based on strategic priorities to meet both country and APAC goals and objectives.
Work closely with Country Manager to do Business Planning and Strategy for Business Development.
Work closely with VP of sales and Business Operations, seek support and report diligently to meet country and overall APAC goals.
Develop the skillsets required for the junior/new hired Business Consultant
Keep updated for the team with the relevant technology development
Be a leader and a role model to inspire passion to drive country goals and meet objectives.
Timely reporting and be an advocate for corporate compliance.
Attend Forecast calls, Business/Account Review and Planning.
Apply consultative skills in customer-facing situations to identify customer problems and understand their business and operational issues. Facilitate customer understanding of Product solution technical functionality, value creation and business process improvement.
Articulate the overall solution architecture and provide the solution vision with an understanding of the customer's business and technology needs, AspenTech's previous successes and the competitive landscape.
Ability to cultivate deep relationship with customers at different levels and be the trusted advisor to the customer.
B.S. in Chemical Engineering with 15+ years practical experience in consulting, application software technology, and/or industry, with direct implementation experience.
Minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in Advanced Process Control or Manufacturing Supply Chain Area.
Strong people management and development skill.
Domain expertise required.
Possesses strong executive presence with ability to establish and cultivate effective relationships at executive level, both within the organization and externally.
Ability to lead cross functional teams and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Strong business acumen. Adept at performing customer interviews, identifying improvement opportunities, and overcoming resistance to change. Ability to assess and articulate customer value creation.
Must possess a strong passion for cutting-edge technologies, with the aptitude and desire to learn new skills.
Strong influencing skills.
Able to demonstrate best practice negotiation methodologies.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
