Job Description
Accountable through the Board for the strategic leadership and performance of the**(III); directs the business to ensure quality patient care and strong financial performance.
The Chief Executive Officer is the accountable officer for the**and as such will ensure the highest standards of governance are met and that all legal and statutory obligations are fulfilled.

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

**STRATEGY**
Lead the development and management of the**in accordance with its vision and strategic objectives;
Steer the future of the**to ensure the highest standards of care for patients/service users and families, in conjunction with partners across health and social care;
Ensure patients, staff and other stakeholders have the opportunity and are encouraged to participate in decision making and the planning of service delivery and improvement;
Lead the development of the III’s annual business plan, operational performance and strategic direction ensuring financial health and growth.

**LEADERSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT**
Provide visible and engaging leadership behaviour and personal integrity that models the organisation’s values;
Provide vision, direction, innovation and leadership in enabling the**to achieve its strategic goals and objectives and to respond to developing customer needs and the changing health environment;
Develops the III’s vision and mission statements, ensuring they are communicated to and understood by all staff
Ensuring that effective policies and procedures are in place, actively promoted and evidenced at all levels and across all disciplines;
Build a culture of openness and empowerment within the**to enable delivery of high quality safe, effective and efficient patient care within available resources;
Lead and develop the executive director team to fulfill their duties while motivating and inspiring all staff throughout the III; develop effective working relationships and communications with staff and ensure that staff are motivated, developed, supported and respected;
Develop leadership capability and capacity at all levels and across all disciplines to empower leaders and managers to embrace responsibility and be accountable for their performance; ensure leaders are supported by a strong, clear managerial and clinical structure with clearly defined responsibilities and accountability;
Demonstrate a continuous improvement culture which is patient focused, commands the confidence of clinical leaders and encourages and promotes multi-disciplinary working;
Ensure provision of appropriate and effective learning environments for all staff;
Facilitate a culture of continuous engagement with staff, patients and other stakeholders;
Represent the**and the company to patients/service users and families, government offices and regulators, accreditation bodies, the media, suppliers and other stakeholders, ensuring harmonious and productive working relationships.
Participate in on-call director rota as required

Identify opportunities for the**to innovate and develop (including joint initiatives with the Home Care Service), responding to emerging needs and ensuring business sustainability and growth;
