The VP of Sales is responsible for the overall coordination, management and leadership of all sales activities. To be successful this individual will need an intimate knowledge of market, industry trends, competitors and leading customer strategies. This individual will be responsible for meeting or exceeding the sales budget (monthly, quarterly and annually), including the development and market flexibility to plan for and support the sales team in their pursuit to achieve sales plans.
This role will have direct responsibility for the development, training and coaching of the Regional Sales Managers. He/she will also play a large role and or contribute to strategic plan and providing the tactical tools for achieving the plan.
Responsible for establishing both short and long term sales objectives; up to and including being instrumental in the development of the company’s sales strategic plan. As part of this process the Global Director of Sales will be responsible for providing an annual Sales Plan and providing quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the Plan.
Coordination with the Leadership Team, establishes target customer/industry strategies for Programmable Power Products with the marketing strategies developed as part of the Strategic planning process
Responsible for coordinating the above mentioned objectives with all functional departments, most specifically with Manufacturing and Finance. Additionally this role will play a key part in critical meetings such as Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) to ensure company alignment on processes and expectations.
Responsible for the continued development and relationship building of Programmable Power Product’s customers in order to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies.
Expected to coordinate the sales processes throughout Programmable Power Products, assuring that there are common practices and processes across the organization and that best practices are leveraged to the highest degree possible.
Financial Responsibility And Authority
In conjunction with the VP/BM PPP this individual will have responsibility for establishing pricing strategies and discount programs in accordance with company expectations. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of compensation and commission plans for sales personnel, and to create sales contest and incentives.
Knowledge, Skills & Experiences
Experience managing both internal and external sales personnel
Has a strong understanding of the management of phone sales
Test and Measurement industry experience needed, Power Electronics
Proven experience of executing tactical sales plans include quotas and account objectives
Proven experience as a strong negotiator
Has proven effective time management skills
Is a demonstrated leader among employees, and can show result for holding people accountable and meeting expectations
Minimum of experience, with at least as a sales manager with increasing responsibility
International distribution experience
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Highly customer focused
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and database applications
