Job Description
Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to support our Finance & Accounting department. This is a full time permanent opportunity and will report to the Manager, Procurement. The selected candidate will be accountable for the Procurement of Goods and Services on behalf of TCI. This individual will also establish & maintain effective systematic tools and procedures to enable TCI best practices in the field of Procurement. In addition, the selected candidate will achieve targeted savings for the organization through negotiation and cost saving initiatives without the loss of quality or integrity in goods and services acquired. Finally, this individual will add value to the process of acquiring goods and services for the internal business partners at TCI

What you’ll be doing:
Functional Responsibilities :
Assess the requirements of the organization to develop specifications for the products/services required; identify new service providers and research new products; manage supplier base for internal client groups
Lead negotiations with external vendors; monitor and control contracts and vendor performance; resolve ongoing, escalated issues (mitigate undue vendor supply/financial exposure)
Utilize knowledge of industry best practices to establish and implement procurement policies, procedures and processes for TCI and ensure compliance with strategic initiatives, “conflict of interest” issues, and the needs of various internal stakeholders
Assist in developing departmental priorities, providing input in the day-to-day challenges and decision making process
Interact with all levels of the organization including Executives
Lead support on the Centralized Procurement System Module providing assistance from the Purchasing prospective to the team while liaising with key team members as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Purchasing and Requisitioner requirements
Conduct analysis on spending and budget data; present findings and make recommendations to senior management to meet objectives of improving financial controls and realizing cost savings
Ensure the optimal preparation and structure of service and consulting contracts
Lead process for periodic evaluation of supplier performance and/or vendor reviews as needed
Role Specific Responsibilities :
Lead key benchmarking/sourcing event activities with Marketing business units
Achieve fair value and savings through strategic sourcing initiatives
Negotiate key strategic, tactical and contractual TCI requirements with vendors
Assist the business in establishing standard KPI/SLA metrics
Support and Develop best-in-class Procurement practices
Plan and rollout procurement strategy to assigned divisional categories
Develop and maintain organizational Spend Analysis and Compliance metrics
Act on RQ/PO requests through Centralized Procurement System (FileNet/Lawson), ensure compliance to system requirements

What you bring:
5 to7 years of Procurement/Strategic Sourcing/Category Management experience
University or College degree
3-5 year experience with procurement ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Working knowledge of MS Office (including Visio)
Advanced vendor negotiation and program management skills, ability to lead sourcing events, influence key decision makers, and build successful partnerships with internal BUs
Experience working with internal and external parties to identify business requirements, design and implement business solutions, monitor vendor performance and/or resolve issues with diplomacy as required
Strategic/critical thinking and decision making
Ability to build and manage relationships
Experienced negotiator with strong persuasion ability
Understanding of Finance, Accounting, and Contract Management principles
Understanding of financial systems, processes and internal controls over financial information
Strong Communication/Presentation skills at all company hierarchy levels
