Hotel Overview

The Swissotel Al Ghurair Hotel is a 428-room-and- 192 suite upper upscale property. Catering for both business and leisure clientele. The hotel is located in Deira in the heart of Dubai and within easy reach of major tourist landmarks, leisure destinations and city services. It is linked to the Al Ghurair Shopping Centre, only 3 stops away on the Dubai Metro from the Dubai World Trade Centre and a 10 minute drive from Dubai International Airport.

Director, Finance

Summary Of Responsibilities

Responsible for the short and long term planning and the management of the finance operations to achieve or meet / exceed financial goals
Overall management of the accounting records and financial reports of the hotel, ensuring compliance with company, owner, statutory and fiscal requirements and timetable
Compliance with the management agreement and any Owner / Lease agreement
Provide an effective and efficient control through focused system of internal control
Monitor compliance with company policy and accounting procedures
Ensure legal and tax compliance and that adequate insurance cover is maintained
Liaise and co-operate with both Internal and External audits and ensure that corrective action is taken where required
Develop best practice financial accounting and control procedures
Support and advice the management team on financial and commercial matters
Manage the formulation, review and approval of budgeting and strategic planning within the hotel, identifying value opportunities
Ensure a regular cycle of forecasting is taking place with content and detail appropriate to the needs of the operation

Qualifications

We are looking for a well organized and creative candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to display a “passion for perfection” and work in a dynamic environment. In addition, the candidate should possess:

Senior Leadership experience in accepted Accounting practices and principles required
Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications and or relevant computer applications required
University/College degree in a related discipline required
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times


Physical Aspects Of Position

Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:

Frequent sitting throughout shift
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps


Visa Requirements

Please note that you must be eligible to live and work in Dubai. Swissotel Al Ghurair Hotel managed by Accor will cover visa costs and flights for selected candidates from place of origin.
